College Football Parlay Picks: Week 3

Ohio State at Indiana, 12 PM, FOX

The Buckeyes have dominated the overall series with the Hoosiers, winning the last 24 meetings in a row. Indiana should put up a valiant effort at home and keep this one interesting for at least a little while, but they just don’t have the horses to keep up. Look for Ohio State to kick it into overdrive in the second half to get the win and cover.

The Pick: Ohio State -16.5 (-110)

Kansas State at Mississippi State, 12 PM, ESPN

Don’t look now, but the Wildcats are playing some solid football. Granted, the team’s two victories have come over Nicholls State and Bowling Green, but it’s still progress for a team which won five games a season ago. The Bulldogs are in for a tougher fight than expected. We like Kansas State plus the points.

The Pick: Kansas State +7.5 (-110)

North Carolina State at West Virginia, 12 PM, FS1

After struggling for a home win over James Madison in Week 1, the Mountaineers went to Missouri and got their tails kicked last Saturday. It’s looking like a transition year in West Virginia. The Wolfpack have been solid through two victories, holding opponents to a total of six points. We’ll take NC State to exit Morgantown with a win and cover.

The Pick: NC State -6.5 (-110)

Maryland at Temple, 12 PM, CBSSN

The Terrapins made believers of many with their impressive home win over a ranked Syracuse team last Saturday. You can include us in that camp. This team is solid on both sides of the ball and playing with a chip on its shoulder. Temple is no pushover, but we like Maryland to get the road win and cover to push their record to 3-0.

The Pick: Maryland -7 (-110)

Pittsburgh at Penn State, 12 PM, ABC

The Nittany Lions were tested early last week by visiting Buffalo before running away with a 45-13 victory. Pitt checks in at 1-1 after following a season-opening loss to Virginia with a win over Ohio. Similar to last week, Penn State may find a spirited opponent for a quarter or two, but they’ll have little trouble pulling away before too long.

The Pick: Penn State -17.5 (-110)

Stanford at UCF, 3:30 PM, ESPN

K.J. Costello will be back behind center for the Cardinal this week. The team certainly could’ve used him in last week’s 45-20 road thrashing at the hands of USC. The Knights are off to another great start with two convincing victories, but the competition level steps up a lot this week. UCF wins, but we like Stanford to make them work for it.

The Pick: Stanford +7.5 (-110)

Alabama at South Carolina, 3:30 PM, CBS

How high is this spread going to go? The Crimson Tide opened up as 21-point road favorites for its trip to South Carolina, but the market has pushed it to 25.5 points as of this writing. The Gamecocks have lost starting quarterback Jake Bentley for the season. Ryan Hilinski takes his place. A start versus Alabama for a redshirt freshman has the makings of a rout.

The Pick: Alabama -25.5 (-110)

USC at BYU, 3:30 PM, ABC

When the Trojans lost starter JT Daniels for the season, the thought was that the year was all but over for USC. Freshman Kedon Slovis has given new reason for hope. He threw for 377 yards and three scores in a 45-20 win over Stanford last week. A trip to BYU isn’t easy, but USC looks like a team which may be getting it together in 2019.

The Pick: USC -4 (-110)

Iowa at Iowa State, 4 PM, FS1

The Hawkeyes have won the last four in a row for this annual rivalry game, three of them by 10 points or more. Last season, it was a 13-3 decision for Iowa on the home field. They have to hit the road this time around, but they still check in as slight favorites. Iowa is the more complete team and could be a dark horse to watch in the Big Ten. We like them to get the win and cover.

The Pick: Iowa -2.5 (-110)

Arizona State at Michigan State, 4 PM, FOX

These two programs hooked up last year on ASU’s home turf. The Sun Devils stunned the Spartans with a 16-13 victory as five-point favorites. Michigan State gets its shot at revenge at home on Saturday, and we expect them to succeed. However, Arizona State has a solid defense and can at least keep this one close. We’ll take the Sun Devils plus the points.

The Pick: Arizona State +14 (-110)
