College Football Parlay Picks: Week 3

Southern Mississippi at Alabama, 12 PM, ESPN2

The Crimson Tide have dominated in their three victories to start the year. However, some critics felt last week’s road manhandling of South Carolina just wasn’t enough. Perhaps they’ll be more satisfied this week when Alabama has its way at home with visiting Southern Mississippi. The Crimson Tide win and cover in their final tune-up prior to SEC play.

The Pick: Alabama -39 (-110)

Tennessee at Florida, 12 PM, ESPN

The Gators have lost starter Feleipe Franks to injury. Kyle Trask slides into the starting gig, and questions abound as to how well he’ll respond. Regardless, Florida is home to face a Tennessee squad which has struggled mightily in the early part of the year. It’s a hefty spread for a new signal-caller, but the Gators defense can hold the Volunteers in check.

The Pick: Florida -14 (-110)

Michigan at Wisconsin, 12 PM, FOX

One of the biggest games of the day is a Big Ten showdown between two powerhouse squads. The Wolverines struggled last time out, and they needed overtime to take care of business with Army. Wisconsin has yet to allow a single point this season, while Jonathan Taylor is running all over the place. Look for the Badgers to make a statement with a home win and cover.

The Pick: Wisconsin -3.5 (-110)

LSU at Vanderbilt, 12 PM, SEC

The Tigers have been one of the most impressive teams in College Football through three weeks. They are a firm part of the playoff conversation as a result. The general enthusiasm over the team has led this spread to climb from its open of 19 points. The Commodores had last week off and are not as terrible as most make them out to be. LSU wins, but Vanderbilt covers.

The Pick: Vanderbilt +23.5 (-110)

Michigan State at Northwestern, 12 PM, ABC

The Spartans were stunned at home last week by visiting Arizona State, while the Wildcats picked up a 14-point road win over UNLV and stand at 1-1. Northwestern doesn’t look as strong as last year’s squad which made it the Big Ten title tilt, but they can keep it closer than expected versus a Michigan State team which just can’t get it going on offense.

The Pick: Northwestern +9.5 (-110)

Auburn at Texas A&M, 3:30 PM, CBS

Another fascinating matchup of ranked squads will take place in College Station, TX. The Tigers’ record remains unblemished on the year, while the Aggies went down to defeat at Clemson. These teams match up well on paper, but the home-field advantage is big for a Texas A&M team looking to make a statement. The Aggies should win and cover in one of the best games of the day.

The Pick: Texas A&M -4 (-110)

UCF at Pittsburgh, 3:30 PM, ABC

The Knights handled business at home versus Stanford last week. It’s a Power 5 pelt on the wall which the team desperately wanted as the program looks to continue making headway with pollsters. While they are certainly the better team on paper than Pitt, this has the makings of a letdown spot. The Panthers played Penn State tough last week and will do the same here.

The Pick: Pittsburgh +12 (-110)

Washington at BYU, 3:30 PM, ABC

This is an intriguing meeting of a pair of 2-1 teams. The Huskies dropped a one-point decision at home to Cal, but they won their other two games convincingly. The Cougars were handled by Utah in the opener, but they bounced back with a pair of OT wins over Power 5 schools. That exciting run will come to an end, but BYU is going to make Washington work for this one.

The Pick: BYU +6.5 (-110)

SMU at TCU, 3:30 PM, FS1

Two undefeated squads with contrasting styles hook up for an interesting afternoon tilt. The Mustangs bring a prolific offense to the table, while the Horned Frogs have a defense that no one wants to face. TCU is rightfully favored at home as a stout defensive team, but SMU can make a game of it. The Horned Frogs should win, but the Mustangs will keep it closer than expected.

The Pick: SMU +9.5 (-110)

Louisville at Florida State, 3:30 PM, ESPN

Things are looking up for the Cardinals. New head coach Scott Satterfield has this squad playing a lot better than last season’s horror show. It’s a different story for the Seminoles, as their 1-2 start has turned up the heat on head coach Willie Taggart. These are two teams heading in opposite directions. Louisville covers and an outright upset wouldn’t stun us either.

The Pick: Louisville +6.5 (-110)
