#1 Tennessee  vs. #3 Georgia

  • Leg 1: Tennessee +8.5 (-115)
  • Leg 2: Over 66.5 total points (-110)
  • Leg 3: Hendon Hooker over 271.5 passing yards (-114)
  • Leg 4: Brock Bowers over 58.5 receiving yards (-114)

The Volunteers’ magical season will get another challenge, as they head into Athens to play the defending National Champions. The question is whether Georgia will have the answer to contain the high-octane, top-ranked Tennessee offense.

The Bulldogs have seen high-tempo offenses like this a few times this year. They’ve allowed 20 or more points to two of three opponents in the bottom 30 in time of possession. Both of those teams are outside the top-60 in scoring.

The Volunteers have been successful at finding favorable matchups in the secondary. They did it against Alabama, and it resulted in WR Jalin Hyatt having 207 receiving yards. They also ran the ball effectively, forcing Bama to bring safeties down to the line. That led to those one-on-one matchups. Tennessee can win if they can get Georgia to do the same thing, especially with WR Cedric Tillman back in the lineup.

#17 North Carolina  vs. Virginia

  • Leg 1: North Carolina -7.5 (-102)
  • Leg 2: Over 60.5 total points (-110)
  • Leg 3: Drake Maye over 53.5 rushing yards (-114)
  • Leg 4: Antoine Green under 70.5 receiving yards (-114)

Maye is continuing his breakout season for the Tar Heels, as he’s tied for the most passing touchdowns, third in passer efficiency and fifth in passing yards. While North Carolina has one of the best air attacks in the nation, the run game hasn’t been successful. Maye is leading the team with 439 rushing yards.

The strength of this Virginia team is their passing defense, so UNC may need to run the ball more if they want to get opportunities in the air. Though, the Tar Heels may not need to score much against the awful Virginia offense.

Quarterback Brennan Armstrong finished fourth in passing yards and sixth in completions last season, but this year, he’s only 53rd and 30th. The team lost their offensive coordinator in the off-season, which seems to have made an impact.

The Tar Heel defense isn’t any good, but going against the 123rd-scoring offense should not have them worried. We’ll see Maye use his legs more than his arm in this game, but he will find spots in the passing game to push this to a big win.

#4 Clemson  vs. Notre Dame

  • Leg 1: Clemson -3.5 (-102)
  • Leg 2:Under 44.5 total points (-110)
  • Leg 3: DJ Uiagalelei under 42.5 rushing yards (-114)
  • Leg 4: Notre Dame under 19.5 total points (+104)

The Tigers got an extra week to prepare for this game. It really shouldn’t matter, as Notre Dame is clearly the lesser team. Still, South Bend is always a hostile place to play.

It doesn’t look like we’ll get any controversy on who will be under center for Clemson. DJ Uiagalelei was benched during the game against Syracuse after a poor outing, but it seems like he will remain the starter. This is the place where DJU had his coming out party and threw for 439 yards, two passing touchdowns and a rushed for a score when he replaced Trevor Lawrence (COVID) back in 2020.

Notre Dame has not had the season they envisioned. They have bad losses against Marshall and Stanford at home, only narrowly beat Cal and that BYU win losses credit every week. Their offensive line is excellent along with their run game, but, whether it’s been Tyler Buchner or Drew Pyne at quarterback, they can’t move the ball through the air.

The way to attack Clemson is in their secondary because their defensive front is filled with NFL-caliber talent. I don’t see Notre Dame making much of a dent in the scoreboard. The Irish have talent on both lines themselves, but as the game moves along,  you’ll see them start to fade.
