College Football Week 12 Odds, Picks & Predictions for Friday

San Diego State vs. New Mexico

The San Diego State Aztecs will head east on Saturday to take on the last place (Mountain West) New Mexico Lobos. For the Lobos, things are about as bad as it gets in college football this season, currently ranked 129th in the country in points scored at just 14.7 points per game. They have struggled mightily in both offensive games, totaling just 238 yards of total offense per game to this point.

For San Diego State, the offense has also been putrid, coming into the week ranking 106th or worse in points scored total yards and passing yards. The Aztecs do come into this one following their best performances of the season, winning at home vs. San Jose State 43-27. With just 22 points scored over their past three games, I don’t expect a big offensive showing from the Lobos in this one.

An already established bowl team this season, look for San Diego State to run away with this one.

San Diego State -14

South Florida vs. Tulsa

Two teams in the basement of the American Athletic Conference will face off Friday night in Tulsa, as the 1-9 South Florida Bulls come to town to take on the Hurricanes. Sitting just 3-7 on the season, things haven’t gone that much better for Tulsa this season, as their defense has largely been the (primary) issue. As of this week, Tulsa is allowing 212.3 yards per game on the ground this season, which has in part, led to them allowing 32.5 points per game.

South Florida also has struggled mightily on defense, currently allowing 40 points per game to rank 129th in the country. Allowing 508.5 yards of total offense per game, they rank 125th in the country in both passing yards (288) and rushing yards (221) allowed per game.

With both teams having nothing to play for as far as bowl eligibility, look for both defenses to mail it in once again in this one.
