College Football Week 4 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Virginia vs. Syracuse

A pair of ACC foes will meet in Syracuse on Friday night, as the undefeated Orangemen will host the 2-1 Cavaliers. For the home team, a dramatic 32-29 win over Purdue last week will have to quickly be put in the rearview, as quarterback Garrett Shrader has a tall task ahead of him with UVA coming to town. With 705 yards through the air and another 202 on the ground, Shrader is quietly building quite the campaign that also includes 11 total touchdowns and zero interceptions.

For Virginia, quarterback Brian Armstrong is again the guy at the helm, though is more of a game manager compared to his counterpart in this matchup. The Cavaliers have relied on their rushing attack to this point, as freshman running back Xavier Brown has led the way with 7.2 yards per game.

While this number has jumped since opening at Syracuse -9, I don’t see a scenario in which UVA can keep with the offensive efficiency that Shrader and the Orange put forward.

Pick: Syracuse -10.5
