College Football Week 4 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Best Parlay Bets (2022)

Week 4 of what has so far been an electric 2022 college football season is finally upon us, and there is once again no shortage of intriguing matchups. With the action getting underway Thursday and running all the way through to the early hours of Sunday, let’s take a closer look at three matchups I’m keyed in on for a juicy two-team parlay.

Leg #1. Missouri ML (+220) vs. Auburn

Missouri (2-1) will travel to Auburn on Saturday to open SEC play for both teams at Jordan O’Hare Stadium. The visitors’ victory over FCS opponent Abilene-Christian was one in which they didn’t cover, winning 34-17.  The victory came only a week after they failed miserably in their first significant test of the year, losing 12-40 to Kansas State on the road.

Speaking of dreadful performances, Auburn lost a brutal game to Penn State by a score of 12-41 last week (also at home). TJ Finley and Robby Ashford have alternated playing time at the quarterback position for Auburn, which has contributed to the issue on offense. Finley, meanwhile, is suffering from an upper-body ailment this week, and Ashford will almost get the start.

But up to this point, Auburn’s offensive line hasn’t done anything to convince me that they can prevent a defense from entering the backfield at will. Eli Drinkwitz and Mizzou should keep this one close, as head coach Bryan Harsin’s career at Auburn is likely already over.

Leg #2. Clemson -7 (-110) vs. Wake Forest

When Clemson travels to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this weekend to play Wake Forest, it will face its hardest challenge thus far in the season. The Tigers have won all (14) of their games since 2008 vs. their ACC foes, but if they want to win 15 straight, they’ll need to play their strongest game of the year so far.

With a QBR of 162.8 after three games in 2022, Deacons QB Sam Hartman enters this game as the 10th most accomplished quarterback in ACC history after becoming Wake Forest’s all-time passing leader last week in their 37-36 victory over Liberty.

For the Tigers, the quarterback DJ Uiagalelei’s future as QB1 is still largely up in the air. This season, he has passed for 662 yards and five touchdowns, but he struggled against Georgia Tech in their lone real test. Bryan Bresee, a DT for Clemson, will return to the field after missing their previous game due to personal obligations, which will be to their advantage.

Although Wake Forest has become the popular underdog, I believe that Clemson’s player’s talent will make up the gap as they pull away late after another sluggish start.
