College Football Week 8 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Purdue vs. Wisconsin
With Paul Chryst finally sent packing a couple of weeks ago, interim Wisconsin head coach Jim Leonard suffered his first defeat last week with a 28-34 overtime loss at Michigan State. Even still, the Badgers won the rushing battle, as Braelon Allen rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on the day. As always, QB Graham Mertz produced a mixed bag, throwing for two touchdowns but also a crucial interception in the contest.
As for the visiting Boilermakers, their own QB Aidan O’Connell has been one of the best in the Big Ten this season, coming into this one following a 391 yard four touchdown performance last week in their win vs. Nebraska. O’Connell had help from RB Devin Mockobee, who had a career-high 178 yards on a day the Purdue defense couldn’t stop much.
With Purdue having not win in this matchup since 2003, I like them to get this one as they have plenty to play for with just one conference loss.
