College Football Week 8 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Syracuse vs. Clemson

There’s guaranteed to only be eight undefeated teams left Saturday afternoon, as Syracuse and Clemson clash in an ACC matchup in Death Valley. For the home Tigers, a 7-0 record to this point was expected, but just how narrowly they’ve gotten here was not. Even in beating Florida State last week 34-28, the game was another close call, with disaster avoided thanks to QB DJ Uiagalelei’s four touchdowns on the day. After a slow start, the Clemson QB has accrued a touchdown to interception ratio of 17:2.

As for the Orangemen, their own QB Garrett Shrader had one of his worst performances of the season last year in their 14-17 loss to Clemson, completing just 17 of 37 passes for 191 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Shrader has taken a step forward this year, however, arriving at this game with a TD:INT of 12:3.

While much has been made of Syracuse’s ease of schedule to this point, they’ve handled their business in each, going 5-1 ATS. I like them to keep this one close as well.

Syracuse +13.5
