College Football Week 8 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Virginia vs. Georgia Tech

Following a 1-3 start this season, Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins was relieved of his duties as interim head coach Brent Key stepped in, seemingly giving this team some life. Over their two games since, the Yellow Jackets have won both games, including upsetting Pitt on the road as 21.5-point underdogs. They followed that up last week with an overtime win vs. Duke, this time as 3.5-point underdogs.

As for Virginia, a 2-1 start has been followed up with three straight losses, with their most recent coming at home on October 8th vs. Louisville as 2-point favorites. Virginia’s offense led by senior QB Brennan Armstrong once again failed to produce much of anything, failing to eclipse 20 points for the fifth game in a row.

Even against a flailing Virginia, I have a hard time with the idea of laying points with this Tech team. Instead, I’m focused on the under between two teams who rank higher than 90th in FBS in scoring.

Pick: Under 47
