College Football Week 9 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Notre Dame vs. Syracuse
All eyes will be on Syracuse in the ACC on Saturday, as they look to bounce back following their first loss of the season. Taking a 21-10 lead into the fourth quarter on the road at Clemson, the Orangemen allowed 17 unanswered in the final frame to lose a heartbreaker. The front seven for Syracuse was the biggest concern, allowing 293 yards on the ground as the Clemson passing attack was once again able to do little.
The 21-27 loss was also the first time since September 17th and just the second time all season that the Syracuse defense gave up more than 20 points, as they’re now allowing just 15.1 per game.
As for the visiting Fighting Irish, last week was their highest points total of the season at home, scoring 44 points in their 44-21 win over UNLV, though failing to cover the 26-point spread. Hitting the road for just the third time this season, I think we see a focused Notre Dame take advantage of a demoralized Syracuse.
