Host Matt Perrault recaps a frustrating 1-2 Thursday, where his Seahawks futures ticket looks better after the Rams’ loss, but his daily bets on the Rams side and the game total (which went over due to overtime and a second-half shootout) failed to cash. He also notes a loss on his Missouri State bowl bet.
For Friday, he focuses on the start of the College Football Playoff and the NBA.
In the College Football Playoff opener (Alabama vs. Oklahoma), he discusses the turmoil surrounding Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer and rumors linking him to the Michigan job. He contrasts this with the hostile environment expected in Norman, Oklahoma. Citing Alabama’s recent “manhandling” by Georgia and Oklahoma’s dangerous defense (and healthy QB Jackson Arnold, he believes the wrong team is favored. He takes a position on the point spread with the home underdog.
He also places two College Football Futures bets based on the bracket.

Texas A&M to win the National Championship: He views their path (Cotton Bowl vs. Ohio State in Texas) as favorable and believes they can beat Ohio State and potentially Georgia. He sees value in the long odds.

Texas Tech to win the National Championship: He analyzes their potential path through Oregon (in Miami, a long travel for the Ducks) and potentially Indiana. He sees value in the price for a team with a solid path to the semifinals.
In the NBA, he targets the Thunder vs. Timberwolves game. He acknowledges it might be a “square” bet but trusts Oklahoma City’s dominance against the spread, noting they recently covered a massive number against the Clippers. Despite Anthony Edwards’ talent, he believes the single-digit spread is too low for an OKC team that consistently blows opponents out. He takes a position on the point spread.
