Overview

Mike McCarthy has lost the Cowboys’ locker room. Once Dak Prescott went down, the team lost its one and only leader, and it is clearly showing. There is zero fight in this team.

After taking a shot to the head last game, Andy Dalton is likely out Sunday night. Ben DiNucci, a seventh-round pick, is expected to start. With the Eagles having the third-highest sack percentage in the league (9.16%), the rookie is likely to see a lot of pressure in this game. We should expect some sloppy play, which has been typical for Dallas.

The Eagles still have a long injury list, but they could welcome back some key players. While Miles Sanders, Alshon Jeffery, and Jack Driscoll have been ruled out, Vinny Curry, Lane Johnson, and Malik Johnson all returned to practice Friday. Tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to come off the IR and play for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 3.

Philadelphia will also welcome back rookie Jalen Reagor to the lineup. This is a must-win week for the Eagles, who currently reside at first place in the NFC Least at 2-4-1. Despite the injuries, Philly appears to be better coached, more talented, and more disciplined overall. Playing at home, the Eagles look set to get their third win.

Trends

  • Dallas is 0-7 against the spread (ATS) in its last seven games.
  • The total has hit the under in five of Philadelphia’s last seven games against Dallas.
  • Philadelphia is 2-6 ATS in its last eight games.

Prop Bet

All odds taken from FanDuel Sportsbook.

Winning Margin (4-Way): Eagles 14+ (+120)
There aren’t many props available for this game yet, but we’ll go ahead and predict a Cowboys collapse yet again. I know, bold prediction.

Bottom Line

With a beat-up offensive line facing a team that is one of the best at applying pressure, the Cowboys will allow plenty of Eagles in their backfield in this game. It is a tough first start for a seventh-round rookie who has had just a few days of throwing passes to these receivers. I’m not afraid of the Cowboys’ offense for this reason, and I’m not scared of Dallas stopping Carson Wentz for four quarters.

Pick: Eagles -11.5, Under 42.5
