There are a few excellent matchups this week, but this one may be the best. Mike McDaniel will be coaching against his former team, along with Jeff Wilson Jr. and Raheem Mostert, who played under Kyle Shanahan and McDaniel in San Francisco. The 49ers have a difficult task in stopping Tua Tagovailoa and this offense. Shanahan knows this offense has speed, but stopping it is much easier said than done. They average 291.9 passing yards per game and 25.6 points per game and are facing the best defense regarding points per game allowed.

The Dolphins will also have their hands full on defense against this loaded 49ers offense. The one area in which both defenses struggle is third-down conversion rates. The 49ers allow 41.6% of third downs, and the Dolphins allow 41.7%. It would not be surprising at all if this game came down to the wire.
