(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Drake Maye Under 219.5 Passing Yards (-110)
This has nothing to do with Drake Maye's performance in the AFC Conference Championship. Obviously, the weather played a big role in his throwing for just 86 yards and completing only 47.6% of his passes, both of which were season lows.
That said, Maye has now thrown for 191 yards or fewer in three of his last four games. Against the Houston Texans, he completed just 59.3% of his passes, which resulted in him compiling only 179 passing yards.
While the Seahawks allowed 374 passing yards to Matthew Stafford in the NFC Conference Championship, the Rams were also playing down multiple scores for most of the second half. In the Divisional Round, the Seahawks held Brock Purdy to just 140 passing yards. Remember, this is a defense that allowed only 193.9 passing yards per game during the regular season. They also rank first in yards allowed per attempt (six).
Sam Darnold Under 0.5 Interceptions (+112)
It seems like everyone is waiting for the Sam Darnold who choked at the end of last season to show up, yet that player is nowhere to be found. Through two playoff games, Darnold has done exactly what the Seahawks have needed him to do. He's completed 69.8% of his passes, thrown four touchdowns and has yet to throw an interception.
Darnold threw 14 interceptions during the regular season, but six of those came against the same Rams team that he just threw three touchdowns and zero interceptions against in the NFC Conference Championship. He's now gone three straight games without an interception.
The Patriots have picked off five passes during the postseason, with one coming last week against Jarrett Stidham. The other four came against C.J. Stroud, who looked like he had no idea where he was in the Divisional Round. Could that have had to do with the scheme? Of course. You have to give the Patriots a lot of credit for that performance. But this is a team that only intercepted 10 passes during the regular season. And with how Darnold is playing right now, I'll take him to get the better of this matchup.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 7.5 Receptions (+123)
Jaxon Smith-Njigba finished fourth in the NFL with 119 receptions during the regular season, an average of seven per game. He caught at least eight passes in 10 games and fewer than seven only five times. His worst performance came when he caught just two passes in the Seahawks' 26-0 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He didn't catch fewer than four passes in any other regular-season game.
Smith-Njigba caught only three of his four targets for 19 yards in the first game of the Seahawks' postseason run. However, Darnold also only threw 17 passes in that 41-6 win. Last week, when Darnold needed him the most, Smith-Njigba caught 10 out of 12 targets for 153 yards and a touchdown.
During the regular season, Darnold threw 477 passes - 163 of them were to Smith-Njigba, giving him a 34.1% target share. That percentage has only dipped slightly during the postseason, with Darnold throwing to Smith-Njigba 30.1% of the time.
Finally, the Patriots allowed just 9.9 yards per completion during the regular season, the third-fewest in the NFL. This means that even a passing attack as good as the Seahawks' will need to methodically move down the field. That is great news for this prop.
