English Premier League (EPL) Matchday 2 Preview, Odds & Picks (2022)
The 2022-23 English Premier League (EPL) is off to a roaring start following an exciting week one with every team in action. With all 20 teams back in action, which get started on Saturday, let’s take a closer look at a few of the spots I’m on in week two.
Saturday Games
Manchester City vs. Bournemouth
This will be one of the most lopsided matches from an odds perspective in the early part of the season, as last year’s champions Manchester City welcome a team in Bournemouth to town who was just promoted. The newly promoted squad is riding high, however, as they opened up their EPL debut with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the first week of the season.
While the win was impressive for the newcomers, expect the reigning champions to put them on notice just who the big dogs are when they visit Manchester on Saturday. Another big game for Erling Haaland could be on the docket as well, as the newly acquired Bundesliga star also put the league on notice with two goals in his opening match.
Manchester City gets off to a hot start here and eventually routes.

Wolves vs. Fulham
Fulham turned in one of the most impressive results of week one, taking the FA Cup Winners (Liverpool) to the brink last week before finishing with a 2-2 draw. Led by Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored in the match, Fulham has already shown they are going to be a problem this year and will look to take another step forward this season after earning their promotion in the spring.
For the Wolves, a 10th place finish in the table last season was certainly signs of progress, but their first result of 22-23 showed some signs of a potential step back. In their 1-2 defeat on the road at Leeds, the Wolves didn’t have much in the way of a formidable attack against a team in Leeds that was all but asking for it.
Despite having the luxury of playing at home this week, the Wolves did little in their opening week to inspire confidence they can take advantage. In what I expect to be a close game that I have much closer to even on paper, I’ll gladly take the underdogs in this match and think there is value on Fulham to notch one in late, led by one of the more underrated goal scorers in the EPL in Mitrovic.
