The sporting world is emerging across the globe after a difficult and largely sports-free three months. While restrictions will be in place, and fans won’t be allowed to attend, soccer is back.

The most popular league of them all, the English Premier League (EPL), made its return this week. Now it has a full slate of weekend games for fans — and bettors — to get in on the action. After spending the past few months betting on Belarus soccer, let’s dive into some weekend EPL to identify the best bets.

Brighton (+200) vs. Arsenal (+140)

Saturday, 10:00 AM EST

Currently on the outside looking in for postseason play, (former) powerhouse Arsenal needs to find the win column. In their first game back from the pandemic, Arsenal got one of the toughest draws of them all. They lost a tough road game at Manchester City by 0-3.

On the other side of this Saturday morning matchup, Brighton will re-start the season looking to stave off relegation. They sit just two points ahead of the cut line coming into Saturday. In their first game back from the pandemic, Brighton gets no favors themselves as they go up against a goal-hungry Arsenal squad.

In this one, I think Arsenal is undervalued after their loss to Manchester City. Fortunately, Brighton is a team that they should be able to outman in the flanks.

Pick: Arsenal +140

Everton (+470) vs. Liverpool (-170)

Sunday, 2:00 PM EST

While no team was happy to pack up their boots for three months, no team in the world was quite as hot as Liverpool. They had won five of six before the break to sit atop the table with 82 points! Liverpool leads their next-closest opponent (Manchester City) by 22 points.

With just over a month to play, Liverpool is largely playing for seeding at this point, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t put the pedal to the floor once again as the EPL resumes play.

For Everton, the break came at a time that saw them fighting to find an identity. Tallying four draws over their last six, the last time we saw them on the pitch was a 0-0 draw to Wolverhampton back on March 7th.

With this being both teams’ first game back from the pandemic, I expect there to be some rust from both sides.

Pick: Under 2.5 (+120)
