For the first time in the modern era, the 4th of July weekend here in the United States brings us no American sports (no disrespect to Joey Chestnut) due to the coronavirus pandemic. Across the pond, however, leagues have figured out a way to get their product back on the field, and the English Premier League (EPL) is at the top of that food chain.

With now less than a month left of their regular season campaign, Liverpool FC has already been crowned Premier League Champions, and all eyes turn toward the remaining four spots that mean anything for Champions and UEGA postseason play.

With nearly a dozen games this weekend, let’s take a look at a few matchups that I have my eye on for us to cash in on.

Manchester United (-650) vs. Bournemouth (+1900)

Saturday, 10:00 AM EST

Listed as the by far the biggest favorite this week, Manchester United looks to claw their way back into Champions League contention as they sit just two games back of fourth-place Chelsea.

Since returning post-pandemic, United is 2-1-0 and has scored seven goals while racking up a goal differential of +6. The last time two times we saw them on the pitch, they earned 3-0 victories, and the most recent one came at Brighton just four days ago.

For Bournemouth, relegation is turning into a very real possibility, as they have now lost three straight since returning from the break. Currently sitting with a goal differential of -24, Bournemouth needs points in short order with just a few games remaining in the 2020 EPL season.

With a total that United could very well beat by themselves, I like this game to sail over 2.5 goals, with any coming from Bournemouth as an added bonus.

Pick: OVER 2.5 Goals (-190)

Liverpool (-320) vs. Aston Villa (+800)

Sunday, 11:30 AM EST

Sitting clear at the top of the EPL table by 20 points, Liverpool has already secured the Championship and is on their way to being one of the top seeds in this year’s Champions Leauge. Evident by their performance last week, a 0-4 defeat against a strong Manchester City squad, Liverpool has little to play for, and I that think you will see that continue to play over their final regular-season games.

On the other side of this match, Aston Villa should play a desperate brand of to avoid relegation. They currently rank 19th out of 20 on the table.

Since coming back from the break, Aston Villa has had the unfortunate draw of Chelsea, Newcastle United (who is surging), and Wolverhampton, (also surging).

While their draw gets no easier in this one, I think Liverpool is overvalued in what the public likely sees as two teams, not one, trying to fight for positioning. I expect a conservative forward-looking approach from Liverpool, and Aston Villa will struggle to do much of anything.

Pick: UNDER 3.5 Goals (-150)
