English Premier League Sports Betting Picks of the Week: 7/17 – 7/19

As July comes to a close over the next two weeks, Europe’s top leagues will also close out their seasons. In the English Premier League (EPL), Liverpool has secured the league’s championship, and they sit clear above second-place Manchester City by 28 points.

While much is set in this season’s table, there’s plenty to jockey for over the final two to three games. Some squads can earn slots in post-season tournaments, while others can avoid relegation.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at two matches that I have my eye on this weekend.

West Ham United (+135) vs. Watford (+260)

Friday, 3:00 PM EST

With just three matches remaining for West Ham United, the storied club finds themselves in a fight for their EPL lives. Currently sitting only three points clear of 18th, West Ham needs all the points that they can get.

They played to a positive result in their last time on the pitch. Their 4-0 home win left fans wondering where that version of the club has been all season.

Tied with West Ham at 34 points and in the same predicament, Watford is sitting dangerously close to the relegation line. After starting the restart slowly themselves, Watford has now rattled off back-to-back wins for the first time this year.

In this one, I see two teams in desperate need of a win and with a lot to lose. With this in mind, I’m going with the draw in what I see as a very conservative “play not to lose” type of game.

Pick: Draw +190

Tottenham (+130) vs. Leicester (+210)

Sunday, 11:00 AM EST

Unlike Friday’s match, this one features two teams with a lot to play for in the way of post-season tournaments.

Just two points separate Leicester from Manchester United, who have won four of their last five as they desperately try to claw together wins. If the standings hold, Leicester will be heading for next season’s Champions League. That makes a positive result here massively important.

For Tottenham, a slow start after the restart may come back to bite them, but for now, they’ve seemed to put it in the past. Having collected points in their last four of five, they sit just five points behind Manchester United with a spot in the UEFA Cup.

Featuring two teams with everything to play for and very little to lose, I see a high-scoring affair and with no fewer than three goals scored over the 90+ minutes.

Pick: OVER 2.5 Goals (-106)
