NFL Week 15 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Falcons vs. Saints
The Falcons used their bye week to maneuver to their rookie quarterback, Desmond Ridder. Marcus Mariota needs surgery on his knee and will miss the remainder of the season. Ridder has yet to play this season, so the Falcons’ offense will look different. They rank fourth in rushing yards per game, with 158.9 yards, but do not move the ball well through the air. The Saints are a middle-of-the-pack defense and allow 9.7 yards per completion. They are ranked last in turnovers, so if Ridder protects the ball, the Falcons have a decent chance.
The Falcons’ defense has not been good this season. Teams convert 47.4% of third downs against them, and they allow 390 yards per game. Andy Dalton should have plenty of time in the pocket, as the Falcons have the second-fewest sacks with 17. It should be interesting to see how Ridder handles his first start.
