Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics

Los Angeles has vastly improved over the last few weeks. They are winning games and look like a playoff team. Tonight might be a tough matchup against the best team in the NBA, but compared to a few weeks ago, they stand a chance. 

Over the last 10 games, Anthony Davis is averaging 30.3 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. The Lakers star is starting to take the torch from LeBron James and has increased usage. That increased volume gives Davis a high betting value on scoring the first basket.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Utah Jazz

Both of these teams have been fantastic through the beginning of the season. Most bettors thought both the Jazz and Pelicans would struggle. They proved them wrong by being two of the top teams in the NBA. 

The reason for the Pelicans’ success is Zion Williamson. He averages 25 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. That means he is a force to reckon with this season. That combination of consistency and determination is what bettors want to see with a first-basket scorer.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Golden State Warriors 

Golden State Warriors are starting to turn their season around, but they still struggle with getting the first possession. The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the taller NBA teams and have had success getting the first possession. 

Getting the first possession is part of winning the first scorer in the NBA. The second piece is a player with scoring and usage that is consistent. That player is Giannis Antetokounmpo. He can score in multiple ways, and Milwaukee plays through him. That makes him the most likely to get the first basket.
