Genesis Scottish Open 2022 Odds, Previous Winners & Course Overview (PGA)
Serving annually as the appetizer to the fourth and final major of the year, the Open Championship, the Scottish Open attracts the world’s very best with a purse of $8 million. For the players at the bottom of the rankings that start it, it also serves as their last chance to qualify for The Open.
Traditionally just a European Tour (Role Series) event, this year’s edition is sanctioned by the PGA Tour, with the winner set to receive a record $1,440,000. Let’s take a closer look at the 40th edition of the Scottish Open.

Course Preview: Renaissance Club
Located on Scotland’s eastern coast and 20 miles from Edinburgh, Renaissance Club has hosted the Scottish Open for the past three seasons, giving at least some course history to most of the players in this year’s field. Coming in at 7,293 yards, the course will play just a hair longer than the Tour’s average, and players who can bomb the ball will undoubtedly have advantageous approach shots.
It’s also worth noting that all three editions of the Scottish Open played here at Renaissance have ended in a playoff, with the final scores coming in at -22, -11 and -18. With 14 of the world’s top 15 players in this week’s field, I’d expect the winner to finish even lower in a course routinely beaten up by some of the European Tour’s best.
With five par 3’s, Renaissance will also leave players who perform well on shorter holes with a sizeable advantage.
