The show must go on. WWE rushed to film Wrestlemania before lockdown went into effect in Orlando last week, and as a result, we are lucky enough to have a two day Wrestlemania. The seven-hour show (with three hours or less of actual match time) was always a tough sell, so splitting the event up over two nights is in everybody’s best interest. However, WWE is refusing to release the match schedule and may look to keep it under wraps all weekend. The impetus here is forcing fans to tune in to watch their preferred matchup ‘live’. For those of you who wish to watch the event, the recommendation is to watch via the WWE Network. If you do not have a subscription, you can sign up with your first month free.

As mentioned above, the Wrestlemania card is still in flux. There have been some match changes, with the most notable one already being announced with Roman Reigns pulling out due to health concerns. As you may or may not know, Reigns recently battled Leukemia, and as a result has a weakened immune system. This has caused him to pull out of the big show citing health concerns due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The dirt sheets have it that The Miz showed up to the Performance Center with a cough which reportedly enraged Roman Reigns, and his cousins The Usos (Miz is reportedly off the card as well). Dana Brooke and Andrade have also been pulled from the card due to coming down with flu like symptoms. Live event cards are always subject to change, but WWE having a pre-taped show and still refusing to release the matchup changes is perplexing to say the very least. All in all, it should be a fun, and entertaining way to keep ourselves distracted over the weekend.

WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
Everything about the recent booking suggests that Drew McIntyre has been approved by Brock Lesnar to take the title off of him. Lesnar is done wrestling during the pandemic and likely wants to make his way back to wife Sable at the family ranch in Canada. There have been rumors Brock may not even be on the card, so we will have to wait until Sunday to see what happens.
Universal Championship
Goldberg (c) vs. Braun Strowman
Braun Strowman finally gets his title shot. Two years too late. The fans who once supported Strowman have now turned against him due to horrible booking, and his propensity to sound off on said fans on social media. This was supposed to be Roman Reigns winning the title, but some irresponsible behavior from the Miz has changed those plans. Strowman should finally get his chance in the sun.
Last Man Standing
Edge vs. Randy Orton
It is almost a disservice to these two veterans that they will not be able to compete in front of tens of thousands of fans. This match is a high stakes affair that should have its fair share of sports entertainment bred violence.
Firefly Funhouse Match
John Cena vs. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt
Reportedly shot with a movie feel and quality, this may very well be one of the most entertaining matches on the card. The lack of an audience actually helps this one particular matchup.
Boneyard Match
The Undertaker vs. A.J. Styles
A.J. Styles is the type of wrestler that WWE should have been looking to pair The Undertaker with for the last 10 years. Styles is talented enough to carry this match regardless of how it is booked. Legendary worker meets the legend. It should be a good one.
Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
This could be the start of the feud Becky Lynch needs, or it could spell the end of the heavy push Shayna Baszler received while at NXT. Hopefully, Vince McMahon learned from his mishandling of Asuka once she was promoted to the ‘main roster’.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Fatal 5-Way
Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Naomi vs. Lacey Evans vs. Tamina
Sasha Banks was injured so WWE had to scramble for a match for Bayley at Wrestlemania. Banks returned with enough time to reignite the build that has been occurring since they both hit the main roster, but Vince McMahon thought otherwise. Speaking of McMahon, an empty arena may be the perfect time for him to crown Lacey Evans. Originally scheduled as a Six-pack Challenge, Dana Brooke was removed from the match after reporting a fever.
Women Tag Team Championship
Asuka and Kairi Sane (c) vs. Nicki Cross and Alexa Bliss
A rematch of the Hell in the Cell affair that saw The Kabuki Warriors win the title. WWE likes to keep Alexa Bliss in the mix due to her elite mic skills. From a pure wrestling standpoint, Asuka and Kairi Sane will be able to help carry this match.
NXT Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
Rhea Ripley is being pushed as the next big thing, but now has to face off against the chosen one of the Women’s division. The result of this match will determine Ripley’s career trajectory in the WWE.
Intercontinental Championship
Sami Zayn (c) vs. Daniel Bryan
Two very talented wrestlers will be going at it in this matchup. This is an indie wrestling fans type of dream match. They could have stolen the show had this match been able to have been put on in front of a crowd.
Raw Tag Team Championship
The Street Profits (c) vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory
This is a match that would not even make a NXT Takeover. Andrade would have presented some star power to this matchup, but instead, we get a match that will very likely be aired on the pre-show.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Miz and John Morrison (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Usos
The Miz is reportedly out of this match due to showing up to the Performance Center with a cough. The Usos were furious with The Miz’ selfish decision to put everyone at risk, but are expected to remain on the card in some fashion. How this match goes down without The Miz is anyone’s guess, but they already replaced Andrade with a random NXT wrestler, so the same cannot be ruled out here.
Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
Seth Rollins is doing the villain thing pretty well. He totally turned his legion of fans off with his poor mic work, poor booking, and lashing out on social media, and is no longer the golden boy he was when he dubbed himself Monday Night Rollins after impressive gauntlet match showings. This is one match that could truly go either way, and will give audiences at home some edge of their seat moments.
Elias vs. King Baron Corbin
Not sure who wants to see slightly over heel vs. hated heel, but as WWE fans well know, the audience remains at the whims of Vince McMahon. Rob Gronkowski may get in the mix of this match based on recent booking.
Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley
No build, conflicting styles. Two wrestlers who have been criminally misused since appearing on the ‘main roster’. Paul Heyman appears intent on making Vince McMahon see the star power Aleister Black holds, because you know, he has actually watched NXT.
Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler was a hot commodity once upon a time, but a match against Otis seems like pre-show fodder. With that being said, the Otis-Mandy Rose storyline did do much better than expected with the audience, and will likely come to its conclusion here.
