La Liga Betting: Weekly Odds & Game Picks: Week 13 (2021)
Matchday #13 is officially upon us in La Liga as we’ve found success more weeks than not in this league halfway around the world. With Messi, in addition to the head coach now, out at Barcelona, the table is as wide open as it’s been in a decade.
Let’s take a look at the lay of the land and where the value remains this week.

Espanyol vs. Granada, 3:00 PM, EST
Through 12 games, Espanyol finds themselves smack in the middle of the table with 14 points despite just three wins. Having joined La Liga Santander this season, after being promoted from the second tier, La Liga SmartBank, however, they’ll take what they can get and draw from the positives; of which there are many.
Before losing last week to bottom-feeder Getafe, Espanyol had secured eight points in four games, including back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
Hot on their heels with 11 points coming into this week, Granada arrives in Espanyol feeling confident after their second win of the season and having not lost since September 27th. During their run, Granada has a +4 goal differential and is one game removed from their biggest (3-0 vs. Levante) win of the season.
Having just beaten up on the only team in La Liga yet to secure a win (Levante) and that has a goal differential of -12, I’m taking last week’s win for Granada with a grain of salt.
I do, however, like this Espanyol team to regain its footing at home and respond well off their worst loss of the season in this one. In addition to the revenge factor, Espanyol is just more talented across the board and is led by striker Raul de Tomas and his blistering seven goals on the season.
