Following a four-game slide that spanned the entire month of December, Atletico Madrid has gotten back on track to start the new year. In their four games since, they’re 2-1-1 and have accrued a goal differential of +6, picking up big-time wins over Rayo Majadahonda and Rayo Vallecano.
Valencia finished the month of December on a decidedly different note, winning all five matches over the course of the month finishing with a goal differential of +8. Their level of competition, however, has picked up, and so have their losses. Going just 2-2 in their games since Valencia has accrued a goal differential of -2.
Led by the dynamic goal-scoring duo of Angel Correa and Luis Suarez, who have combined this season for 18 goals, look for Atletico Madrid to come out motivated in this one as they sit barely slotted in the #4 position on the table.
