La Liga Betting: Weekly Odds & Game Picks: Week 9 (2021)
La Liga resumes this weekend following a weekend off for Week 9 of a regular season which has produced plenty of great action thus far. We’ve had a strong start picking games thus far, as we look to continue through this middle part of the season.
Let’s take a look at a match I have my eye on for Friday afternoon.

Valencia vs. Mallorca, 3:00 PM EST
Since starting the season 2-0-1, RCD Mallorca stumbled against stiffer competition throughout September, finishing the month 0-3-1. The last time we saw them on the pitch was just inside two weeks ago, a 1-0 win vs. Levante, a perennial bottom-dweller in La Liga.
Mallorca is led on offense by the Rodriguez-trio, who accounts for six of their total 12 goals.
A closer look at the metrics shows a team with a -5 goal differential and near the bottom of the table in most advanced statistics.
On the other side of this matchup, Valencia comes into this match 8th on the table with 12 points, just two behind the top four. Having not won since September 12th, however, I see them getting discounted despite having a +4 goal differential through eight games.
Led by striker Carlos Soler who has three goals, this is still a team capable of slotting goals, as they carried a +8 goal differential into their match vs. Real Madrid on September 19th.
In their toughest test of the season thus far, Valencia took a 1-0 lead into the 86′ minute before conceding two late to lose the game 1-2.
In this one, I expect Valencia to return to form and take advantage of a team in Mallorca who is getting overvalued in this one following the long layoff.
