As the weather starts to turn in Spain, things are heating up in their top league as La Liga has now reached matchday 11. At the top, Real Madrid and Barcelona continue to battle it out for the top spot, as a host of teams fall in line behind them.
Let’s take a closer look at a La Liga match this week: Celta Vigo vs. Getafe.

Monday
Celta Vigo vs. Getafe
Following a decent start to the season that saw them pick three wins out of the gates, Celta Vigo has crashed back to earth as of late. Over the past month, the team has lost three of four matches including three straight in the lead-up to this one. It’s worth noting as well, that over their most recent three-game slide, Vigo has a -5 goal differential, highlighted by their most recent defeat to Valladolid 4-1 on the road last week.
As for Getafe, a sluggish start has been followed up with two straight games picking up points, both being draws. Most recently, they fought off a stout Atletic Bilbao attack at home last week, fining the match 2-2 after a back-and-forth affair.
In a game I have much closer to even on paper, I’m taking the sizeable dog here in which I think there is plenty of value.
