Sunday's Best WNBA Picks: Lynx vs. Sparks

(Odds Courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Minnesota Lynx -3 First Half Spread (-112)

The Minnesota Lynx did not have the most successful start to the season, especially in the first half in Friday's contest against the Dallas Wings. However, once the third quarter began, Minnesota absolutely dominated, and showed why they are a heavy favorite to play in their second consecutive championship.

Albeit a much more formidable opponent, Los Angeles lacks the defensive prowess it will take to contain the scoring options on the Lynx. The Sparks have only played the Valkyries twice (preseason/regular season), a team that is in their first year in the WNBA, and already seem to be looking towards the future.

Whereas Minnesota is coming off nearly winning the championship, while keeping the team in intact over the offseason. Los Angeles is no doubt going to fill up the box score this season. Having said that, we expect their defense to take a few more games to become more cohesive. Minnesota by more than three points at half sounds like a logical bet for this contest.

Napheesa Collier 25+ Points (+100)

We close out the day with a selection that most likely will dip lower than +100, so it will benefit you to get to the gate early for this points prop bet. Napheesa Collier dominated in the Unrivaled League, and now the Minnesota forward is looking to continue the stellar play into the WNBA season.

After only playing 20 minutes in the first preseason contest for the Lynx, Collier has scored at least 25 points in two consecutive games. The veteran out of UConn torched the Wings in Minnesota's first game of the season, to the tune of 34 points on 57% from the field, two-of-three from beyond the arc, while making all eight free-throw attempts.

Collier has scored 25 points or more in the previous two matchups against the Sparks, and Los Angeles doesn't have much size beyond Dearica Hamby. It's going to be a tall task for the Sparks to limit Collier from scoring on the block, as well as putting back offensive rebounds off the glass.
