Masters 2022: Jon Rahm Betting Odds, Preview, & Prediction

It might not feel like spring in some parts of the country, but the azaleas are in full bloom at Augusta National, home of The Masters, the most iconic tournament in golf.

In just a few days, we’ll see Amen Corner, Rae’s Creek, the Sarazen Bridge, and Augusta’s other famous features while watching golf’s biggest stars navigate challenging approach shots and treacherous greens. As if the golf isn’t entertaining enough, The Masters presents us with a betting menu the size of a Cheesecake Factory menu.

Welcome to the first annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We will drill down on the myriad wagering opportunities this tournament presents to us. We’ll look at the golfers with the best chances of earning a coveted Green Jacket. We’ll examine which bets look like sucker plays and which bets provide better value than a $1.50 pimento cheese sandwich at an Augusta concessions tent.

Should you back a top player like Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, or Collin Morikawa? Is it better to play a hot hand with Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Smith, or Sam Burns? Or would it be best to ride with an Augusta specialist like Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, or Justin Rose?

We have some thoughts. Read on, friends.

Jon Rahm Course History

It’s no secret that Jon Rahm always brings his best effort when The Masters comes around on the schedule, and it’s likely a date he circles on the calendar a year in advance. Rahm has fared exceptionally well in all five of his outings at Augusta National, with a T27 performance in his inaugural appearance in 2017 and four Top 10 finishes. He followed up in 2018 with his best display, where he finished fourth in the field.

In 2021, Rahm shot 72 (par) each of the first three days. But once Sunday rolled around, Rahm rattled off a -6 performance and finished fifth overall. The showing was worth $437,000 to the 27-year-old Spaniard. It feels like it’s only a matter of time before Jon Rahm wins his first Masters tournament.

How to watch & bet on the 2022 Masters >>

Jon Rahm’s Recent Form

In the new year, Rahm has competed in eight events in 2022 and has four Top 10 finishes to his name. His best performance came at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii in early January. Jon Rahm shot -33 in the event and finished second overall, just one stroke behind Cameron Smith.

Two weekends ago, Rahm recently finished tied for ninth in the Dell Technologies Match Play event in Austin, Texas. He was eliminated in the Round of 16 in a 19-hole affair against Brooks Koepka. The duo replayed the par-4 10th hole in the extra frame, where Koepka birdied the hole from the fringe of the green to advance. Scottie Scheffler won the event and took over the top position in the world, moving Rahm into second.

Other recent finishes for the second-ranked player in the world include 55th at The Players Championship, 17th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, 21st at The Genesis Invitational, 10th at the WM Phoenix Open, and third at the Farmers Insurance Open back in late January. Rahm always tends to ramp up his efforts, moving closer to the Masters and proving he’s a top player. I would expect no different this year, and Rahm will be looking for at least another Top 10 finish, if not going for it all as the tournament favorite!

Jon Rahm Masters Predictions

The Pick: Jon Rahm to Win (+1000 via BetMGM)
It’s no longer a question of, “If Jon Rahm will ever win The Masters,” but rather “When will Jon Rahm win the Masters?” The 27-year-old has been playing at the top of his game over the last couple of years and is primed for a run at the title this weekend.

Rahm has been in great form in 2022 with two Top 5 finishes and four Top 10 efforts. He has a proven track record at Augusta, with finishes at 4th, 5th, 7th, and 9th. This is the year that Rahm puts it all together and wins The Masters.
