The Mercury (2-0) and Storm (1-1) hook up at Climate Pledge Arena in the Pacific Northwest.
The new-look Mercury, which added Alyssa Thomas via trade, while adding Satou Sabally, has gotten off to a big start. And, that’s with Kahleah Copper missing the first two games due to injury. Once she is healthy enough to play, Phoenix will have a new, younger Big Three, and it is looking quite dangerous out west.
The Storm also has a new look, as Jewell Loyd was traded to Las Vegas in a three-team deal in the offseason. Gabby Williams is back in The W for the first time since 2022, and this is Skylar Diggins’ team now. Alysha Clark, Nneka Ogwumike and Erica Wheeler give the Storm decent depth, although they were no match for the Merc in the first meeting. These teams met in the opener, with Phoenix routing Seattle 81-59 as a 6-point underdog in the Valley of the Sun while the Under (158) cashed. The total has gone low in both games for Seattle so far.
Let’s take the Mercury catching the points, and we’ll low on the total, too.
Picks: Mercury +5 (-108) & Under 157.5 Points (-108)
