San Diego Padres (-135) vs. Colorado Rockies (+115) | 12.0 (-115/-105)

The Padres notched their second straight win Friday night, beating the Rockies 9-6 in the series opener. They’ll look to keep things rolling as they turn to Ryan Weathers today. The Rockies counter with Kyle Freeland in this divisional clash set for 3:10 p.m. ET from Coors Field in Denver, CO.

I’m playing the Padres on the moneyline in this game solely based on how dominant their offense has been over the past week. In the last seven days, San Diego ranks fourth in baseball in both team batting average (.291) and OPS (.851).

In addition to their recent stretch of offensive production, they’ve excelled against left-handers this year (Freeland is a southpaw). They climb up the rankings to 17th in team batting average (.253) and ninth in OPS (.772) against LHP. The Friars have hit the fourth-most home runs against lefties this year as well with 27. All indicators point to a higher-scoring affair in the Mile High City, but I think San Diego will jump out early and set the pace. Give me the Padres on the moneyline.

Bet: San Diego Padres Moneyline (-135)

Washington Nationals (+160) vs. Atlanta Braves (-190) | 10.0 (-110/-110)

Speaking of high-scoring games, we should be in for one in Georgia today as the Braves host the Nationals for a second straight contest. Atlanta posted a 3-2 victory last night, issuing Washington its fifth straight defeat. We have a pitching matchup in game two between MacKenzie Gore and Jared Shuster. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET from Truist Park in Atlanta, GA.

I’m rolling with the over in this N.L. East showdown. This is a battle of left-handed pitchers, and each of these teams has feasted against southpaws this season. Atlanta is fourth overall in BABIP against LHP at .345, while Washington is sixth (.341). As for wOBA, the Braves are second (.387), while the Nationals are seventh (.344).

In terms of the head-to-head statistics, Washington is slashing .400/.550/.467 in 15 at-bats against Shuster. The rookie has had control issues and is currently 23rd amongst pitchers in BB/9 at 5.58. So, we should have a ton of scoring opportunities in this game on both sides, and I think we’ll see a plethora of runs in the ATL today. Let’s lock in the over.

Bet: Over 10.0 (-110)

Houston Astros (+115) vs. Cleveland Guardians (-135) | 8.0 (+100/-120)

The Astros dropped their fourth straight game last night, a 10-9 barnburner against the Guardians. They’ll try to get back in the win column tonight when they send J.P. France to the hill. Cleveland comes back with Triston McKenzie in this American League tilt slated for 6:10 p.m. ET from Progressive Field in Cleveland, OH.

McKenzie shined in his season debut against the Twins on Sunday, holding them scoreless over 5.0 innings of work. The right-hander racked up 10 punchouts in the no-decision effort. He’ll take on a pedestrian Houston offense that’s ranked 17th in team batting average (.247) and 20th in OPS (.716). In 50 head-to-head at-bats, the Astros are slashing .240/.321/.460 against McKenzie.

On the flip side, I have to believe that the Guardians’ 10-run outburst on Friday night was more of an anomaly than a sign that they’re truly turning things around. Cleveland’s offense comes into today’s game ranked 21st in team batting average (.239) and 28th in OPS (.667). They’ll be tasked with facing France, who just shut down the Angels over 7.0 innings on Sunday. The right-hander limited them to just one run on three hits in a no-decision effort.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Cleveland’s second in bullpen ERA (3.05) while Houston is third (3.28). Runs will likely be tough to come by in this game, and I’m locking in the under.

Bet: Under 8.0 (-120)
