Today’s Best To Hit A Home Run Prop Bets

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Ryan Mountcastle (+500)

The Royals are winless (0-3) on their six-game road trip after getting swept out of Miami in their midweek series. They’ll turn to Daniel Lynch to get them back in the win column as they open up a series with the Orioles. Baltimore counters with Tyler Wells in this American League clash scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET from Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD.

Lynch has had a pedestrian start to the season since coming off the IL at the end of May. In two starts, the left-hander is 0-1 with a 4.35 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 10.1 innings of work. Most recently, he gave up five runs (three earned) on six hits over 5.0 innings against the Rockies. Lynch took the loss in the 6-4 defeat.

The Royals’ hurler has faced the O’s for about a game’s worth of at-bats and they’re 5-18 (.278) against him with a pair of doubles. Ryan Mountcastle stands out specifically as he’s 2-5 (.400) with a pair of singles. The first baseman has been a thorne in the side for left-handers this year considering he’s hitting .311 with seven home runs and a 1.017 OPS. Seven of his 11 bombs have come off of lefties and I think we’ll see eight tonight. Let’s lock in Mountcastle to go deep!

Carlos Correa (+450)

The Twins have hit a rough patch as they’ve now lost five straight games, including getting swept out of Tampa Bay for three games. They’ll head to the Great White North where they open a weekend set with the Blue Jays. Minnesota opts for Sonny Gray while Toronto counters with Yusei Kikuchi. First pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET from Rogers Centre in Toronto, ON.

Kikuchi is stringing together a respectable season as he enters this game at 6-2 with a 4.40 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. However, he has been prone to giving up the longball. The left-hander has yielded 17 homers over 61.1 innings of work this season.

He’ll take on a Twins team that’s had his number, slashing .357/.390/.607 against him over 56 at-bats. Carlos Correa stands out at 9-18 (.500) with a triple and two doubles. He’s yet to take Kikuchi yard yet, but I think it’s worth a flier that he does tonight. The shortstop is hitting .243 against left-handers this year and has seven home runs overall. This is a good spot for Correa to blast one tonight in the dome.

Rowdy Tellez (+500)

The Athletics have strung together a pair of wins and they’re now 14-50 on the season. They’ll look to keep things rolling tonight when they send Luis Medina to the bump. Milwaukee counters with Adrian Houser in this interleague tilt. First pitch is slated for 8:10 p.m. ET from American Family Field in Milwaukee, WI.

While it may be considered low-hanging fruit, I’m going to continue to fade the A’s in some capacity. Tonight it comes with backing Rowdy Tellez to hit a bomb off of Luis Medina. The right-hander is 0-5 this season with an 8.19 ERA and 1.62 WHIP. He has also given up 10 big flies over just 29.2 innings pitched this year.

Enter Tellez, who has done most of his damage against right-handers this year. 11 of his 12 long balls have been against righties and he owns a .797 OPS against them. This feels like a great spot for him to go yard against the worst pitching staff in the league. Let’s root for a towering Tellez shot tonight in Milwaukee!
