MLB To Hit A Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (5/10)

Here are our best bets to hit a home run for today’s MLB action.

Best Home Run Bets for Today

Here are our top picks and predictions to hit a homer today.

Cubs vs. Cardinals

Cody Bellinger +750 (DraftKings)
Patrick Wisdom
+475 (DraftKings)

Typically, the pitcher has the advantage in a lefty-lefty matchup, but that may not be the case today.

Today the St. Louis Cardinals are sending out lefty Jordan Montgomery, and as strange as it is, the Cubs' Cody Bellinger is hitting lefties just as well as righties, maybe even a tad better.

Bellinger's ISO jumps from .189 against RHP to .356 against lefties, while four of his seven home runs have also come against RHP.

Bellinger's teammate Patrick Wisdom also has succeeded against lefties posting a .333 ISO, the 24th best in the MLB.

Jordan Montgomery has done an excellent job limiting the long ball early in 2023. Montgomery has only allowed one home run over his first six starts. Five of those six starts came against teams that rank in the bottom half in ISO vs. lefties. The Cubs, as a team, ranked 7th.

Orioles vs. Rays

Ryan Mountcastle +600 (DraftKings)

Ryan Mountcastle and the O's will be facing left-handed pitcher Jalen Beeks (6.75 ERA), and lucky for Mountcastle, he has been smashing left-handed pitching this season. Among qualified hitters Mountcastle ranks 19th in the MLB in ISO (.345), and 23rd in wRC+ (175)

His splits also tell the same story. Against RHP, he is only hitting .220 with three home runs with 26 strikeouts. On the other side, when facing a left-handed pitcher, Mountcastle average jumps to .323 with five home runs and only ten strikeouts.
