Thursday’s Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Salvador Perez (+425)

Minnesota’s Bailey Ober enters Thursday night having allowed a home run in 20 of his previous 28 regular-season starts. Opposing batters are driving the ball deep in 2025 as Ober ranks 360th out of 380 qualified pitchers in launch angle sweet spot percentage (52.2%). That’s scary considering a clash with the Royals is on deck. Ober has recorded a dismal 6.50 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 10 starts against Kansas City.

I trust experience to pay off for catcher Salvador Perez. He has tallied two homers, two doubles and eight RBI across 19 at-bats against Ober. Not only that, but the nine-time All-Star has tormented the Twins with 35 dingers throughout his career. That’s his highest total versus any MLB squad. Perez has the discipline to stay patient and exploit a mistake from Ober with a majestic swing. Lock this wager in before the first pitch is thrown.

Mike Trout (+300)

There’s no denying injuries have plagued Mike Trout in recent years. Nevertheless, the power he possesses has never disappeared. The three-time MVP has logged 13 home runs in his past 40 contests, which equates to a pace of 50+ jacks throughout a full season. Trout is healthy and draws a stellar matchup against Zack Littell and the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Littell completed his 2024 campaign conceding a blast in 16 of his final 21 starts. It’s worth noting hitters have posted an impressive .809 OPS during the first inning of the right-hander’s 49 starts. Trout was a part of that success as he smashed a sinker left in the zone 400 feet to center field for a first-inning homer versus Littell last April. Those in search of a longshot option can bet on Trout to go yard in his first plate appearance at +800 odds.

George Springer (+750)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s massive contract extension deservedly rules the headlines for the Blue Jays right now. However, don’t let it draw attention away from the fact George Springer is putting together a great bounce-back effort at the plate. The Toronto outfielder is slashing .447/.512/.711 with five extra-base knocks and nine RBI through 13 games. Springer’s 1.223 OPS trails only New York’s Aaron Judge for the top mark in baseball.

A chance to quiet a road crowd at Fenway Park awaits Springer next. Boston is handing the ball to Walker Buehler, who has had a lackluster beginning to his Red Sox tenure. Buehler has surrendered nine earned runs (three home runs) in 9.1 innings of work. Springer tagged Buehler for a 452-foot leadoff moon shot in 2018 and approaches Thursday boasting a career-best 60% hard-hit percentage. Keep riding the hot bat until the wheels fall off.
