Sunday’s Best MLB Home Run Props & Bets

    (Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Austin Riley (+250) & Ronald Acuna Jr. (+260)

Austin Gomber is set to make his 2025 debut for the Rockies.

After a long two months, Gomber has been activated from the 60-day injured list (IL) after dealing with a shoulder injury.

In 2024, he went 5-12 with a 4.75 ERA. In 30 starts, he allowed 30 home runs with a HR/9 of 1.68 while allowing a .273 opponents’ batting average.

Gomber struggled with opposing right-handed hitters, allowing righties to bat .286 with a .486 slugging rate. Of the 30 homers he allowed last year, 21 came off the bat of right-handed hitters.

I like fading pitchers making their MLB debut or making their first start after a long stint on the IL. The Rockies lefty hasn’t made a Major League appearance since last September and could be a bit rusty.

Ronald Acuna Jr. has been on a tear since coming back from injury and has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the last 14 days. Over the last two weeks, Acuna is batting .400 with four home runs.

    Pete Alonso (+300)

Pete Alonso and the Mets are looking to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays. Coming into this series, the Mets were one of the hottest teams, owning the best record in the Majors.

Alonso is having an MVP-caliber season, batting .297 with 17 home runs. A lot of that is because he has been crushing right-handed pitching, batting .310 with 14 home runs and an ISO of .296.

Rays starter Shane Baz has been a bit inconsistent this year with a 5-3 record but owns a 4.97 ERA. His HR/9 of 1.66 is the fourth-highest mark among today’s starters. He also has an 18.3% HR/FB rate, which is the third-highest.

I expect a big day for the Mets, led by the Polar Bear himself.
