    (Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

    Javier Baez (+800)

In a small sample size, Javier Baez has done well against Guardians starter Gavin Williams

In four at-bats, Baez has two hits, including a double and a home run. Even with a small sample size, this sets up well for Baez.

Williams primarily uses three pitches - fastball, sweeper and curveball, and all of which Baez does well against.

Against breaking balls (sweepers, curveballs, sliders), Baez has hit five of his nine home runs with a batting average of .229

Against the four-seam fastball, he has hit three home runs with a .319 batting average.

Baez is in a bit of a funk over the last week. Hopefully, a good matchup against Williams gets him going again.

    Brent Rooker (+320)

This is strictly a numbers play. When looking at my projections this morning, Brent Rooker had the second-highest probability of going yard today, ahead of both Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge.

When that happens, I have to listen to the numbers and take a shot.

Only Kyle Schwarber had a higher probability of hitting a homer today. The reason I am leaving Schwarber off my betting card is that I am a bit biased towards Reds starter Chase Burns and expecting (hoping) he has a big bounce-back day after getting shelled in his last start.

    Michael Busch (+460)

Since being acquired by the Cardinals last year, Erick Fedde has faced the Chicago Cubs twice, and the results have not been kind.

In two starts (8.2 innings), Fedde has allowed 12 earned runs on 14 hits, including five home runs.

One of the many batters who has success against Fedde is Michael Busch. In seven career at-bats, Busch has four hits with one dinger.

On top of his success against Fedde, Busch is the Cubs’ hottest hitter of the last week. In his last seven games, Busch is slashing .524/.545/1.143 with four home runs and an ISO of .619.
