Every team is in action on Saturday, and here are our two favorite plays for first-inning outcomes.

Saturday’s Best MLB No Runs First Inning Bets

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook

San Francisco Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Pitching matchup: Logan Webb vs. Corbin Burnes

In today’s matchup between the Giants and BrewCrew, we get the ace for both teams, and that’s always a great start when looking to bet on the NRFI.

Corbin Burnes is 4-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 2023 and has had great success against most of this Giants roster in his career. Four guys have at least double-digit at-bats against Burnes in their career; none of them are batting over .154.

As for Logan Webb, he is 3-5 with a 2.91 ERA and has had decent success against current Brewers’ players despite a smaller sample size. There are only four players with at least five at-bats against Webb, and they are a combined 7 for 21 with a .333 batting average with only one extra-base hit.

Bet: NRFI -165

Boston Red Sox vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Pitching matchup: Garrett Whitlock vs. Zach Davies

Combined, Whitlock and Davis have a record of 2-3 on No Runs First Inning, and looking into the stats and advanced metrics, it’s no surprise.

Zach Davies has an xERA of 8.03, the highest of any starting pitching on today’s slate. Garrett Whitlock is not far behind with an xERA of 5.15, the 8th highest among today’s starters.

Both starting pitchers tend to give up the long ball, as Whitlock has given up four HRs over three starts, while Davies has given up two HRs over his first two starts.

Boston and Arizona rank inside the top 10 as offenses against righties in ISO, wOBA, and wRC+. Look for runs early and often.

Bet: YRFI -120
