San Diego Padres vs. Philadelphia Phillies (Game 1)

Starting pitchers: Blake Snell vs. Taijuan Walker

Blake Snell was an absolute roll heading into the All-Star Break. Over the past 30 days, Snell went 4-1 with a 0.62 ERA and only allowed three earned runs over his five seven starts.

His counterpart, Taijuan Walker, has been just as good. Over his last four starts, Walker went 4-0 with a 2.33 ERA.

Both teams’ lineups are top-heavy, so cashing in an NRFI can be a bit difficult. With two pitchers on top of their game, we should be able to get some value on no runs in the first inning.

Bet: NRFI -105

Miami Marlins vs. Baltimore Orioles

Starting pitchers: Braxton Garrett vs. Kyle Gibson

Miami and Baltimore may be one of the more surprising teams of 2023. Both teams currently sit in 2nd place in their respective divisions while also sitting atop the Wild Card race.

Another similarity, despite being able to win games and get timely hits, they both struggle in the first inning.

Baltimore has scored the 3rd fewest runs in the first inning. The Marlins aren’t far behind, as they have scored 6th fewest runs.

Braxton Garrett has a 8-1 NRFI on the road, while Kyle Gibson hasn’t allowed a run in the first inning in 4 of his 8 starts.

Let’s get six quick outs and cash this NRFI!

Bet: NRFI -110
