MLB No Runs First Inning (NRFI) Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (9/9)
Football might be back, but baseball is still in full swing, with all 30 teams in action today. Whether you can catch a whole game or just a glimpse, the No Runs First Inning (NRFI) market is a great opportunity to catch a Saturday sweat.
Here are my best NRFI bets for Saturday, Sept. 9.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox
Pitching Matchup: Jack Flaherty vs. Chris Sale
Typically, teams have better success in their home ballpark. But this Orioles team is different. Baltimore not only has a better record on the road, they have the most road wins in the MLB. They also have scored 394 runs on the road (fourth most), 76 more than they have scored in their own park.
Today, they get lefty Chris Sale, another advantage for the Orioles as they have feasted on lefties this season. On the season, Baltimore scored 206 runs against lefties, the fourth most and more than teams like Texas, Atlanta, and Tampa Bay.
Sale has seen the Orioles twice this season, giving up a combined 12 runs on 16 hits, including four home runs.
On the flip side, Boston has scored 364 runs at home, which is the sixth most in the MLB. And when you narrow down their splits, Boston has scored 50 first-inning runs at Fenway Park, which again marks the sixth most in the league.
Since coming to Baltimore, Jack Flaherty is 1-2 with a 6.66 ERA and has allowed runs in the first inning in three of those five starts.
Yesterday, we saw 13 runs scored between these two, more so because of the Orioles, but I expect another high-scoring game. Let's hope these offenses start quickly and cash in my only YRFI of the day.
Bet: YRFI (-125)
