MLB Picks & Predictions: Sunday (4/26)
There are so many ways in which you could spend the final Sunday of the month. Are any of them as gratifying as that feeling you'll get when you win some money on one of the many MLB markets available for today's busy schedule? Maybe, but winning money betting on baseball is pretty sweet.
Am I guaranteeing that my picks will be winners? Of course, not. My crystal ball is in the shop. However, I am saying that these are solid bets that I consider the best of the day.

Sunday’s Best MLB Picks & Predictions
San Diego Padres vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona has been hitting the ball well over the last week, batting .282 with 25 runs scored in five games played, including four in yesterday's matchup with the Padres. San Diego has not been hitting well, going .220 with 22 runs scored. They did plate six in the win yesterday.
The Padres do have the advantage on the mound today. Michael King has gone 3-1 in five starts with a 2.28 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. King has held Arizona's lineup to a combined .200 AVG (8-40). As for Arizona's starter, Ryne Nelson got pulled one out into his last outing after giving up eight hits and eight runs. He is 1-2 in five starts, with a 6.97 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP.
- Pick: UNDER 15.5 at -110 (FanDuel)
My initial thought was to go with the Padres ML because of the pitching matchup, but then I saw the over/under was set at 15.5. Yes, I know higher elevations are hitter-friendly, but they combined for ten yesterday. Now, we're expecting six more runs? No. It's not going to happen. King will contain the D-backs lineup.
While I'd expect the Padres to hit Nelson well, they will not hit him (or the Arizona pen) hard enough for the final score to get close to the OVER.
Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals
The Angels have been struggling at the plate over the last week, hitting just .213 with only 16 runs generated across six games. Kansas City, on the other hand, has been hitting the ball well, batting .292 and scoring 35 runs over the last six games. Angels starter Reid Detmers has had one good outing on the road (vs. Yankees) and a bad one (vs. Astros), but Royals hitters have gone .294 against him in limited work (10-34). Royals starter Seth Lugo has gone 1-1 in five starts, with a 1.15 ERA and 0.93 WHIP.
- Pick: Royals -1 at +120 (BetRivers)
Neither team has been impressive this season, but the Royals have won both games in the series, 6-3 on Friday and 12-1 yesterday. With how poorly the Angels are hitting and how well Lugo has been pitching, KC should have no problem covering the run line.
