MLB Player Prop Bet Picks: Aaron Nola, Julio Rodriguez, Jose Altuve (Monday)
The trade deadline is over, and we saw some blockbusters take place. We now have less than two months left in the season, so we're interested in seeing which teams stay competitive.
Let’s look at some players that can see some success tonight.
Monday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Aaron Nola OVER 6.5 Strikeouts (+100)
Aaron Nola is having a tough year after finishing last season fourth in National League Cy Young voting. He's coming in today with a 4.58 ERA, which would be his third-worst finish, but with a strong end to the season, he could have his most wins since 2019. This matchup is an excellent way to get there, going against a San Fransisco lineup he's had success against, as they are hitting a lifetime .216 with a 32.1 strikeout rate. The Giants have been susceptible to the strikeout all season with the third-worst strikeout percentage.
Julio Rodriguez OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody, is hotter at the moment than Julio Rodriguez. He just posted 17 hits in a four-game stretch (that's not a typo), which is the most in that span since 1925. Rodriguez brings his scorching bat to the south side of Chicago, and he'll face off against Touki Toussaint, who's allowed 14 hits in his last 14.1 innings. Rodriguez has no career hits against Toussaint, but that's only in two at-bats, so we’re looking for him to stay hot on Monday night.
Jose Altuve OVER 1.5 Hits (+100)
Another player on a fantastic run is Jose Altuve. He has multiple hits in six of his last 10 games and is leading the league by batting .468 since August 6th. Tonight Altuve will see a pitcher he's very familiar with in James Paxton. He's had a lot of success against the southpaw, batting .324 with two home runs in 34 at-bats.
