Monday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Luis Severino Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-125)

The American League West could be an exciting race, with four of the teams separated by three games. The Mariners, who are in first place, face the Athletics, who are in second place.

The change of scenery is bringing success to the Athletics, as they are 19-16. The offense has been providing a spark, as it is ninth in batting average (.254) and OPS (.736).

The pitching hasn't been up to par at 24th in ERA (4.42), but Severino has put together a nice start to his season. He's been great overall with a 3.31 ERA, but he's been even better with a 2.19 ERA in his last four starts. He's facing the first-place Mariners, who have a ton of power with a .420 slugging (8th) but are prone to strikeouts with a 21.7% strikeout rate. His first outing of the year was against the Mariners, and he had six strikeouts at that start and had an overall 30.9% strikeout rate.

Freddie Freeman Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+105)

The Dodgers currently sit in first place in the National League West, but it is close as the Giants and Padres are within two in the loss column. The offense of the defending champs continues to push this team as they are third in runs per game (5.35) and sixth in batting average (.255).

A few of their players have been hot at the plate, including Freeman, who's batting .476 with six runs and seven RBI. He and the Dodgers head to Miami, where Freeman has been fantastic with a career .320 average in Marlins Park. Sandy Alcantara gets the start for the Marlins, and he has not been successful against the Dodgers’ lineup with a .321 opponent batting average and a .564 slugging percentage. Freeman has played a part with a .281 batting average and a .364 on-base percentage.

Pete Alonso Over 1+ Home Runs (+270)

The Mets are off to an incredible start, sitting in first place in the NL East. Their pitching has been stellar, as they are second with a 2.87 ERA. The offense has been contributing, as they are top in batting average (10th), on-base percentage (6th), and OPS (8th).

This season, the offense got a big upgrade when they signed Juan Soto to the most expensive deal in North American sports history. While he's been underperforming, his presence has enhanced the lineup around him.

No one has benefited more from this than Alonso, who is putting up the best numbers in his career and is third in batting average (.344) and second in OPS (1.124). What's making him even more dangerous is his plate discipline, and his walk rate is in the 95th percentile while his strikeout rate is in the 82nd percentile.

He gets Diamondbacks starter Ryne Nelson, who Alonso has smashed three home runs in only nine plate appearances.
