MLB Player Props & Bets: Friday (4/10)

Season Record: 4-2

Shota Imanga Over 5.5 strikeouts (-127 at Kalshi)

The under would be the play if Shota were facing another team, but Imanga has been sparkling against Pittsburgh over four career games, racking up 23 strikeouts in just 25 innings with a 2-0 record and a 0.35 ERA. Shota averaged 6.5 innings per start against the Pirates and should be able to hit six innings against a team he will be confident in matching up with. If he gets in six innings as expected, he should hit the over on this strikeout total. Slap the More on Shota for Friday afternoon at Kalshi.

Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 total bases (+120 at BetMGM)

Alvarez has been on fire to start the year and has a plus-plus matchup with the exploitable George Kirby on the mound. Yordan boasts a .312 average and 1.045 OPS against George Kirby in 16 at-bats. Back to his hot start to the season, Alvarez has been cooking with four home runs, 10 RBI, and a .317 batting average in 13 games. Has been even more impressive against lefties, dominating with a .529 average and 1.767 OPS. His .182 average against righties (like Kirby) inspires little to no confidence, but this is a pitcher matchup play anyway. Yes on the over on Yordan for the night game against Seattle.

Bryce Harper Over 0.5 hits (-186 at Kalshi)

Harper has had a slow start to the season but has picked it up over his last three games, going 5-9 (.556) in the series against San Francisco. This evening, he will face off against a pitcher he has been impressive against over his career, in Zac Gallen. Bryce sports a .333 batting average against Gallen in 18 at-bats. Gallen has had his own struggles to start the season, currently mired with a solid 3.00 ERA but an unsightly and exploitable 1.40 WHIP. The Diamondbacks pitcher is no longer the dominant K/9 pitcher he used to be, and the regression in his WHIP numbers has been a thing since he started approaching 30. Total bases and hits are both options here, but we will suggest tapping the hit number at 0.5 hits. The juice will be significant, but you will learn over the season that this writer is never one to shy away from heavy juice, especially for high value player props. If the juice is too much for you to suffer, stick this play in one of your parlays.
