MLB Player Props & Bets: Friday (5/22)
Season Record: 15-7
Bobby Witt Jr. Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100 at theScoreBet)
Witt has had a strong start to the season and comes into tonight's contest with a solid .299 batting average. Witt has started up a new hitting streak, which now sits at three games, meaning he has now collected at least one hit in 12 of his last 13 games. Witt has a plus pitcher matchup tonight against Logan Gilbert. Witt has collected seven hits in 14 at-bats for a .500 batting average and a .611 OBP. Gilbert has been a strong pitcher in previous years but sports a long ball induced 4.45 ERA on the season; that said, he does own a solid 1.15 WHIP. The initial target here was the 0.5 hit line regardless of the juice, but with 1.5 hits at +110 at most places and 1.5 total bases at even money at theScore, this was an easy decision. Bump the Over on Bobby Witt for Friday's MLB action at theScoreBet.
Michael Harris Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115 at Fanatics Sportsbook)
Braves outfielder Michael Harris has had a strong start to the season and comes into this contest sporting a .294 on the season. He is riding a three game hitting streak that has seen him collect six hits (3 HR) with two hits in each. Tonight, he will face off against Miles Mikolas, a pitcher he has terrorized with five hits in just 11 at-bats for a .455 career average. Mikolas has been horrid for the Nationals this season, struggling to the tune of a 6.91 ERA and 1.49 WHIP (both represent career lows), with a .282 batting average against. Mash the Over on Michael Harris.
Yordan Alvarez 0.5 Hits (-180 at NoVig)
Yordan Alvarez has seen his batting average drop from .316 to .303 thanks to a two game hitless streak, but will look to get back on track against a pitcher he has had success against in James Tallion. Yordan has a .364 average against Tallion in 11 at-bats, with one home run. We considered total bases here for those who do not like to lay heavy juice, but for bankroll builders, the hits total is the target. We love Alvarez' profile against James Tallion, who has had his struggles this season, boasting an unsightly 4.97 ERA, albeit with a solid 1.20 WHIP. Yordan is someone we have featured on Fridays in this column, and it certainly will not stop now with a plus matchup on tap. Hit the Over on Alvarez for Friday afternoon.
