We won't bore you with exclusively under only plays, but we won't shy away from them if they offer more value than usual. Total strikeouts, outs recorded, and, as the season progresses, total hits and total bases; they're all in play. Let’s dig into our top MLB player props and picks for Friday’s slate of games.

Julio Rodriguez Over 0.5 Hits (-144 at Kalshi)
Julio Rodriguez has been rock solid for the Mariners this season and will step to the plate in this one with a .250 average to go with 22 home runs, 70 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. Julio has at least one hit in each of his last five games and 12 of his last 14 overall. He has hit .375 over the last 14 days and .435 over the last seven.
Julio would be an option tonight even without a plus matchup on tap, but has just that in Reid Detmers, a pitcher who has turned his season around but one whom Rodriguez has a .400 lifetime average against with six hits in 15 at-bats, with three of them being extra base hits and one of those a home run.
Reid Detmers has been excellent for the Los Angeles Angels over the last month and a half and will step to the mound with a heavily improved 3.47 ERA, to go along with a pristine 1.05 WHIP and 10.26 K/9. Detmers has been locked in as of late, registering an elite 2.10 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 9.26 K/9 over his last eight starts. This stretch helped push his season numbers back to respectability. The juice on this one reflects Detmers recent form, but does not seem to take into account Julio's success against Reid or his own form. Jab the Over on Julio for Friday night's MLB action at Kalshi.
Bryce Harper Over 0.5 Hits (-165 at Hard Rock Bet)
Bryce Harper has been rock solid for the Philadelphia Phillies this season and will come into this one hitting .268 with 28 home runs and 85 RBI. Harper has been much better against right-handed pitchers this season, hitting .299 off righties compared to a pitiful .224 against southpaws. Harper hit .333 in the month of August before coming back to reality in September with a .278 average.
Harper has an exploitable matchup this afternoon against the inconsistent Freddy Peralta. Harper is .313 lifetime against Peralta over 16 at-bats (5-16), with all five of his hits going for extra bases. Freddy Peralta has had his struggles this season and will toe the rubber with an uninspiring 4.56 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 8.60 K/9. Harper went 2-2 with a home run against Peralta back in June. Jackson Jobe Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-175 at BetMGM)
Jackson Jobe has impressed since returning from Tommy John surgery, riding a 25 percent strikeout rate to a solid 3.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 9.20 K/9. Jobe has turned it on in September, sporting a 3.12 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and a 14.46 K/9. He has struck out at least eight batters in each of his last three starts.
Pittsburgh has struggled at the plate this season, setting a new franchise record for most total strikeouts in a single year. They are averaging 9.27 strikeouts per game. This is an ideal matchup for some Jobe action, as it marries a hot punchout pitcher against a team that struggles with plate discipline. Jobe is listed at just 4.5 strikeouts at some books due to falling under 4.5 in each of his first five starts of the season. Take advantage of the total where possible.
