We won't bore you with exclusively under only plays, but we won't shy away from them if they offer more value than usual. Ozzie Albies Over 0.5 Hits (-203 at Kalshi)
Ozzie Albies has been solid for the Braves this season and will step to the plate this evening with a .254 batting average, 21 home runs, and 68 RBI. Ozhaino has hit .286 over the last 14 days and has collected at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games. Albies has been dominant against today's pitcher with a .533 lifetime in 15 at-bats (8-15) against Christopher Sanchez. Ozzie recorded two hits in three at-bats versus Sanchez in April.
Christopher Sanchez has been excellent for Philadelphia this season and will step to the mound with a 2.52 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 10.37 K/9. Sanchez is generally a pitcher we shy away from here on Fridays, but Albies’ career line and his success this season make him a strong play, even facing off against an elite pitcher. This is purely a batter-versus-pitcher play, so feel free to gravitate towards our other options if that seems more in line with your style of play. Chris Sale Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-330 at ProphetX)
Chris Sale has been excellent for the Atlanta Braves this season and will toe the slab with an elite 2.06 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 11.1 K/9. Sale has faced Philadelphia twice this season, recording seven and nine strikeouts against the Phillies in April. The Braves ace has limited current Phillies hitters to a .214 batting average against over 141 plate appearances.
Philadelphia is a middle-of-the-pack squad in terms of team strikeouts per game, whiffing on average 8.29 times per contest. The normal line at 6.5 does have some appeal for those more averse to heavy juice plays, as Sale has hit seven or more strikeouts in eight of his last 15 games. However, that number jumps to 13 of his last 15 games when we use the alt line to drop the total down to 5.5. Sale has hit six strikeouts in each of his last seven games.
Jared Jones Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-317 at Kalshi)
Pirates star Jared Jones has been excellent this season and will step to the mound with a strong 3.42 ERA, to go with a pristine 1.12 WHIP, and 10.1 K/9. Jones does not have much work against the Angels lineup, as he has faced just eight plate appearances against current Angels hitters, resulting in a .000 batting average against.
The Los Angeles Angels strike out at the third highest rate in the Majors, at 9.44 times per game, a number that jumps to 10.33 on the road. Jones has struck out at least five batters in eight of his last 10 games. The line is set at 5.5 and has even touched 6.5 at some books, so the juice on this 4.5 alt line is sizable, but worth the trade-off for hit probability.
