Justin Wrobleski 5+ Strikeouts (+124)

The Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up a four-game wraparound series at Coors Field in Denver on Monday at 8:40 p.m. ET. Lefty Justin Wrobleski makes his fourth start of the season, and he has continued to get better as the season has gone along.

In his first start, he allowed three runs in just four innings in a no-decision against the Cleveland Guardians. In his only road start, he allowed a run and two hits with four walks in five innings in a 14-2 rout at Toronto, and he grabbed the win. Last time out against the Mets on Monday, he allowed just two hits with no walks across eight scoreless innings in a 4-0 win.

However, while he has gone deeper into games since that initial outing, Wrobleski still has just two strikeouts in each of his three starts. Those starts were against Cleveland, the New York Mets and Toronto, teams which rank 16th or lower in strikeouts per team. Colorado is second in the Majors with 216 strikeouts across 22 games (9.82 per game). Let’s bank on Wrobleski to post a season high, and we’ll roll the dice at plus-money odds that the free-swinging Rockies whiff five or more times.

Dylan Cease Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-112)

The Toronto Blue Jays open the series against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. Righty Dylan Cease is on the hill, and he has been electric for the Jays. While he has no record yet through four starts, the 30-year-old has a 1.74 ERA and 1.26 WHIP, while racking up 32 strikeouts, which ranks 11th in the Majors. His WHIP, though a small sample size, is generally in line with production we’ve seen in previous stops with the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres. However, the early strikeout numbers have been up a tick.

On the flip side, the Halos are a free-swinging bunch, with 223 strikeouts through 23 games (9.7 K/9), which leads the Majors. The Angels are collectively hitting just .224, too, so they’re suddenly not going to develop a great eye at the plate against a high-strikeout pitcher. Look for Cease to set a season high in strikeouts tonight, perhaps even getting to double digits.

Jordan Walker 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (-155)

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker heads into Monday’s series opener against the Miami Marlins with a 14-game hitting streak in tow. He is hitting .339 (20-for-59) with seven homers, 11 runs, five walks and 13 RBI during the impressive run, although he also has struck out 21 times during the stretch. He is slashing .339/.391/.729 in the past 14 games, too.

Walker will look to push his streak to 15 games, which would tie the longest active streak with Arizona’s Ildemaro Vargas. He’ll be facing Miami Marlins righty Max Meyer, who is 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. He hasn’t lasted longer than five innings in any of his four starts, and he tends to walk plenty of batters. That could help us in the runs scored category, too, although we really want to see Walker keep the hit streak alive.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Hit a Home Run (+390)

Let’s get a little crazy here, as we go back to the Blue Jays-Angels matchup and double dip with a Toronto player. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has managed just a single home run this season. That lone homer came against a left-handed pitcher. He will be facing lefty Reid Detmers.

Guerrero is 3-for-11 (.273) with a homer and two RBI against lefties, and while it’s a small sample size, he has a .545 slugging rate and 1.045 OPS in those 11 at-bats. He is due for a homer, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him curl one around that foul pole with the short fence in right field on Monday.
