Monday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Clay Holmes 6+ Strikeouts (+130)
The Mets are in contention in the National League East, only two games behind the Phillies. This is a great opportunity to make up some ground as they take on the White Sox, who have the second-worst record in the league.
It will be Clay Holmes going for the Mets, who is having a great first year with the team by posting a 3.13 ERA. We'll look at his strikeout prop against Chicago, which has the fifth-highest strikeout rate this season (23.3%). He's reached this number against much more disciplined teams like St. Louis, who are fifth in strikeout rate, so he can get to this number against Chicago.
Ryan O’Hearn 2+ Total Bases (+145)
It has been nothing but disastrous for the Orioles this season. They were expected to be one of the up-and-coming teams in the league, but they didn’t get off to a good start, which has resulted in them being in last place in the American League East and firing their manager.
One of the few players who has played consistently well this season is Ryan O'Hearn, as his .329 batting average ranks 10th in the league. He's been hot lately, with hits in four straight games and multiple hits in two. He'll face off against Erick Fedde and the Cardinals. While he's hitless against Fedde, it's only been in three at-bats.
Fedde is due for a regression because while he has a 3.77 ERA, his expected ERA is 5.17. It might have begun as he's coming off allowing four earned runs and two home runs.
Taylor Ward 2+ Hits (+265)
The Angels’ season has been an interesting one. They have been on various winning and losing streaks, but right now, they are looking good as they have won eight of their last 10. They sit just four games out of first in the American League West.
Taylor Ward has played an integral role in this recent run with hits in 11 of his last 13 games, raising his batting average by over 40 points. He'll face off against Yankees pitcher Ryan Yarbrough, whom he's had success against, going 4-for-8.
