Gavin Williams Under 17.5 Outs Recorded (-134)
The first-place Guardians battle the second-place White Sox for the first time this season. Gavin Williams had been rolling along, but he has really struggled lately. He is 1-1 with a 7.63 ERA (15.1 innings, 13 earned runs) across three starts in June. He has served up two homers in each of his outings this month.
In addition, Williams is 5-3 with a 4.94 ERA (47.1 innings, 26 earned runs) with 10 home runs allowed in eight starts on the road. He has a 4.55 ERA in 59.1 innings across 10 starts in night games, while he has a 2.51 ERA in five daytime outings. Williams hasn’t lasted longer than 5.1 innings in his three June contests, and that’s why he is a good bet to go under 17.5 outs recorded.
Travis Bazzana 2+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+107)
Travis Bazzana, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft, has started to heat up lately. He has hit safely in five consecutive games, going 9-for-18 (.500) with two doubles, three homers and seven RBIs, raising his average from .247 to .273 in the red-hot span.
Bazzana will be facing White Sox lefty Anthony Kay (6-2, 4.61 ERA, 1.44 WHIP), who has a strong win-loss record, but his ERA is horrible. He has been even worse in June, posting a 1-1 record, 8.31 ERA (13 innings, 12 earned runs) with three homers allowed, with teams hitting .304 against him this month. Let’s back Bazzana to stay hot.
Samad Taylor 1+ Singles (+107)
Samad Taylor has been on fire for the Padres lately, hitting safely in 11 consecutive outings. He is hitting .390 (16-for-41) with 11 runs scored, one homer and eight RBI, while posting a .457 on-base percentage (OBP) and .488 slugging rate during the 11-game run.
During Taylor’s 11-game hitting streak, he has 14 singles, a double and a home run. At plus-money odds, Taylor is a good bet to collect at least one single against Atlanta Braves righty Grant Holmes, who has a 4.40 ERA across 30.2 innings across six road outings.
Kyle Bradish Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+103)
Orioles righty Kyle Bradish heads into this series opener on the road against the Los Angeles Angels with a dismal 6.32 ERA across 15.2 innings in three starts in June. However, he is coming off his finest start of the season in a win over Seattle on Wednesday. He allowed just one run and five hits in 7.2 innings, with 12 strikeouts.
No team strikes out more than the Angels, as they’ve collectively whiffed a league-high 747 times across 79 games - 9.46 strikeouts per outing. As such, even if Bradish doesn’t stick around long, he should be able to get to at least seven strikeouts in the series opener.
