Monday’s Best MLB Player Props & Bets

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Michael Wacha Under 1.5 Walks (-135)

It was expected that the Royals would continue their momentum from last year by making their first playoff appearance since 2015. It has not gone that way as they are six games under .500. With the Tigers being the best team in the American League, they are 13.5 games out of first in the National League Central.

Wacha is feeling comfortable in Kansas City because this is the first time he's spent a second season with a team since 2019. He's having an excellent year with a 3.33 ERA. He has a great walk rate at 6.3% and that control should help him in this start. The Mariners have seemed to have lost their ability to earn free passes, as they were once third in walk rate but are currently 10th. Over their last 13 games, they are 28th in walk rate (6.8%).

Garrett Crochet 9+ Strikeouts (+115)

It seems as though the Devers trade has sent the Red Sox into a tailspin, having lost seven of their last eight. New York, Toronto and Tampa Bay all look good this year, and this could have Boston continuing to fall out of the race.

Garrett Crochet is doing his best to help his team stay in contention, as he could be a Cy Young candidate in his first year in Boston. He’s third in the American League in ERA (2.06), and most of his metrics are above the 80th percentile, including whiff rate (83rd), chase rate (82nd), xERA (85th) and strikeout rate (91st).

Crochet has faced five different batters on this Reds roster, and three of them he's struck out multiple times. We should see that same trend against a Cincinnati team that is 21st in strikeout rate (23.3%).

Ernie Clement 1+ Walks (Odds TBD)

This is an important series for the Blue Jays as they host the Yankees. The American League East is a three-team race, with Toronto only three games out of first place.

Several players are hot at the moment, including Ernie Clement. He is batting .350 with a .481 on-base percentage (OBP). He's facing Carlos Rodon, who is hit or miss, with control problems (8.5%walk rate). Clement has been disciplined at the plate with a 22.3% walk rate in his last 27 plate appearances.
