Gavin Williams Under 6.5 Hits + Walks + Earned Runs (+119)

Guardians RHP Gavin Williams (9-3, 3.20 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) takes the ball for the series opener at Progressive Field at 6:40 p.m. ET on FS1 against the New York Yankees. He has been tremendous at home this season, going 4-1 with a 2.29 ERA across 39 1/3 IP in six starts with teams hitting just .208 against him. He has also allowed just three homers at home.

Williams gets a second straight look at the Yankees, and this time he won’t have to contend with OF Aaron Judge, who is sidelined at least four weeks due to a stress fracture in the first rib on his right side. Look for Williams and his counterpart, RHP Will Warren, to be involved in a pitcher’s duel on Monday night.

Cristopher Sanchez Over 20.5 Outs Recorded (+100)

Phillies LHP Cristopher Sanchez (7-2, 1.46 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) is second in the majors, just ahead of the aforementioned Williams, posting 103 strikeouts in his 86 1/3 IP through 13 starts. He has worked at least seven innings in each of the past six outings.

Sanchez has six or more strikeouts in seven straight outings, too, but the Rays have just 454 strikeouts across 62 games, the fewest in the majors, so we’ll simply stick with Sanchez to get the outs, not necessarily via strikeout, though.

Spencer Arrighetti Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108)

Astros RHP Spencer Arrighetti (7-1, 1.94 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) isn’t necessarily a big-time strikeout pitcher. He has five or fewer punchouts in each of his past six games. He started off on fire, posting eight or more strikeouts in two of his three outings back in April, though, so the potential is there.

The Angels strike out more than any other MLB team, posting 623 strikeouts across 66 games, or 9.44 strikeouts per game. That’s 14 more strikeouts than the Pittsburgh Pirates (909), who are second in the majors, and 25 more than the Chicago White Sox (598), who are second in the AL. Look for the Halos to have plenty of holes in their bats, as Arrighetti gets to at least six strikeouts.

Rafael Devers Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+152)

At plus-money, backing Devers is a strong play against Washington Nationals RHP Miles Mikolas (1-5, 6.39 ERA, 1.40 WHIP). It isn’t a huge sample size, but Devers is 5-for-8 (.625) with a homer, two RBIs, and a walk against Mikolas in their brief dealings, good for a 1.667 OPS.

This play takes a little bit of a leap of faith, as Devers is just 4-for-29 (.138) with two doubles, a homer, and two RBIs in seven games in June since a 4-hit explosion on May 31 in Colorado. But let’s bank on Devers getting well against Mikolas, who has had a brutal season to date.
